Each spring Saint Anselm College students fan out across the U.S. to work in homeless shelters, soup kitchens, Head Start programs, nursing homes, community centers, orphanages, and inner city schools as part of the college’s Spring Break Alternative (SBA) program. Many are first-timers; others have participated during each of their four years at the college. And, judging from reports from SBA alums, everyone has an experience they’ll never forget. For some, it is the compass that guides them for years to come, influencing lifestyles, careers, and family life.
