Cocktails, Theology, and Prof. Spoerl

June 28, 2006

If you saw Kelley Spoerl, associate professor and chair of theology, at the Strange Brew Tavern in Manchester recently, it wasn’t because she popped in for a drink. She was a guest of the Diocese of Manchester’s Theology on Tap program, which brings discussions of Catholicism and social issues to young adults. Spoerl held a Q&A session on The DaVinci Code, a topic she also has been discussing in newspapers and on television. ”It’s not exactly your usual lecture hall,” she said with a laugh, noting the challenge of calibrating her classroom style to a venue that serves beer on tap. “I’d love to do it again – just to get it right.”
