Students Blog for WMUR and Run for Office
November 3, 2008
History major Lauren Chooljian and politics major Gregory Wallace joined the world of political bloggers this campaign season as contributors to the WMUR Presidential Blog. The two juniors offer dispatches from election-related events on campus, such as the political image-making panel recently held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics in conjunction with the Currier Museum of Art. They assess the news and provide links to items that catch their interest.
Lauren covered the McCain rally held on campus Oct. 22, and Greg – who cut his teeth on political blogging this summer as an intern with ABC's The Note – broke the news that three Saint Anselm students are running for a seat on the New Hampshire Legislature.
"Kate Kerins ‘09 is running on the Democratic ticket for one of eight seats in Hillsborough's seventh district. Connor O'Brien, a junior from Windham, is one of 13 Democrats vying for a seat in Rockingham's fourth district. Sophomore Brian Poznanski, also a Democrat, lives in Nashua and is running from Hillsborough's 26th district. All three are politics majors, and cite their courses in the humanities, English, and philosophy as credits to their judgment," Greg wrote.
