Presidential Candidates Plant Staffers in NH

July 27, 2006

Dante Scala, associate professor of politics, discussed the practice by likely presidential candidates of supplying state-level staffers for New Hampshire politicians. "You build up goodwill among the core activists within the party, but there's also no substitute for the knowledge you gain from having your people on the ground in New Hampshire and getting to know the faces and the towns and getting a feel for how the state works," he told the Associated Press. The story ran in the New Hampshire Union Leader and Concord Monitor.
